(1)
For the purpose of section 25(2)(a) of the Act, a public body may resort to direct
procurement-
(a) in the case of procurement of goods,
where the value does not exceed 500,000 rupees provided that the total cost per
single item does not exceed 100,000 rupees;
(b) in the case of
procurement of works, consultancy services or other services, the value does
not exceed 500,000 rupees.
(2)
A public body shall maintain
records showing details of oral or informal quotations sought from suppliers
prior to the award of the contract.
(3)
For the purposes of section 25(2)
(c) and 25(2) (d) of the Act the limit shall be
fifty percent and thirty percent respectively of the initial contract value.
